If you are a rock-addict( I mean music, and nothing related to Geology or Paleontology) in India, and you love Beer and the subsequent alcoholic preparations, and your wardrobe fashion is dominated by those Black tees flaunting the GnR, Metallica and Sabbath prints, you know which is the best place to hang out. It is Bangalore! Especially when it’s concert season. I was there for the “Rock in India” concert and the air was breathing and smelling rock , I mean grass, I mean the fragrance of beer burps, I mean all of that. We’ll talk about the concert later, here we are talking about the eternal escapism for a Rocker like me, on a Rock weekend at the Rock Mecca of India-Bangalore.The journey begins on 15th March 2008, a day after the Big-Rock in India Concert-at 6 pm from my friends’ place at Jayanagar. There’s rain and there’s Bangy’s infamous, static and most irritating traffic jams. But I was more than ready to brave all of them for the Booze, the Bass, the Beeotches at the Bar and of course Bang Bang Headbanging. Do you know the concept of Party hopping where you are so restless enough to be at more than one party on a single night. Try that when 5 glasses of LAGER are already down your throat. Anyway, first venue- STYX at MG Road. It’s still raining. Thanks to my pal’s Raincoat, I am 70% drenched. I am waiting for my friends -Praxy and Harshal to arrive. And here they are (see pic below, I am the chinki guy).

A cover charge of 200 bucks on a Saturday Night-pretty decent. And as we walk up the stairs, I can see a few chicks trying hard to speak on the phone and a few others staring at them. The doors open and I am hit by a WALL of shreddding guitars. It’s Hetfield and his army and the black tee brigade with the long hairs is echoing -Master ! Master! Instant reaction : Yeah with a devil’s horns Up!!! Walk straight to the Bar. Read the rest of this post »

There are ways you can avoid wasting your Thursday Nights in India from watching American Idol Results night. There are reasons why you shouldn’t be watching them. For starters, it isn’t live and of course no matter how much you want your favorite to stick around, unfortunately you can’t do anything about it. So it is much better to just go to rickey.org or TVSquad.com for the Results update and switch on to your other favorite shows on Thursday night.Coming back to the topic- The American Idol Season 7 Top 9 has been revealed and Chikezie has been eliminated. His wrong song choice on last night’s show (Luther Vandross - If Only for One Night) showed him the exit door. What was surprising was the Bottom 3. The Bottom 3 consisted of Randy’s fav - Syesha Mercado. C’mon after that stellar performance of “If I were Your Woman” she manages to go into that damned Bottom 3. Personally I felt, Carly and Ramiele should have been in the bottom 3. The girls in this season haven’t been as strong as the boys. Ramiele’s song was as rightly put by Simon, too big for her and Carly, even though I love her tatoo, her run in the end was on the verge of shouting. On the other hand, Jason Castro was the weakest one among the boys. Chikezie’s one bad night made him to go. Read the rest of this post »

Okay, I have been on a long long vacation from Naruto. The last episode I saw was Shippuden’s Episode 045 where Naruto, Sakura and Yamato are planning to explore the secret behind Sai’s diary. On the other hand, Sai is with Kabuto and Orochimaru and are on their way to Sasuke. It has been almost 5 episodes in between, and I saw Shippuden’s 051-052 special 40 min episode yesterday. And it seems I didn’t miss a thing. I am so very much furious now. Naruto used to be my favorite anime. Not only because of the Ninja fights but also because of the detailed characerisation of the different protagonists and the layers of complicated emotions embedded within. But this arc is getting on my nerves now. Wanna have a sneak peek of what happened in the episode : Sasuke’s Anticipated Appearance! The Emotional Naruto Shippuden Special. Read on. It’s been quite a week. A very hectic one and disappointing as well. I know nobody actually cares about it, but what the heck, it’s my blog after all. So am just gonna write all about it. My laptop has finally been gone. I now feel childless and am blurting out one line at a time from my work desktop, when my manager doesn’t hover around. My sites have been down for the last 4 days, and it has been a pain to get them running. Thanks again to Brajeshwar for all the help and assistance. And oh! last week I attended the Rock in India concert which featured 7 Indian Rock Bands and Machine Head and Megadeth also. Add to that a very drunk Saturday Night with my drunk gang at STYX and Purple Haze in Bangalore (ok ok…Bengaluru..I prefer Bangy). And yeah, I managed to watch a lot of movies too. So literally I am exploding with source content, unable to write out my posts. So the posts will be coming very soon but, at their own pace. So, more than you, I should hold on and stay calm. A brief snippet of what you can expect.

How I met your mother returns
Some more cool humor cooking up. Need more incense in my room! No not for meditational purposes. Actually, the Biriyani at Belgaum hasn’t actually died out.
Hope to start writing soon enough. Peace!
P.S. My Laptop hopefully reaches me by end of the month. It’s a Dell Vostro 1500 and it’s BLACK. Pray for me that it does reach me!!!

I have seen around many blogs and read a lots of posts. I think linking helps. Linking as in providing links to posts that you loved reading and want people to read them. Yeah, one of those social networking tips you find in those never ending “How To Network Lists”. But anyway, I am here to provide you the best of the Day. Hope you enjoy reading them!
Cracked: CNN helps you decide which corner of America is goign to hell sooner
Rickey: American Idol Top 11 results Liveblogging
Onion: Wii blamed for more effeminate violence
Cinematical: Review of Meatloaf’s In Search of Paradise
Desipundit: Collection of Taare Zameen Par reviews. Well here’s mine as well
/film: Rambo 5 to be filmed in Bulgaria
Topless Robot:10 Awesome But Obscure Cartoons That Need A DVD Release
That’s it for the day. Adios!
UPDATE: I believe this one is actually gonna be the first and the last post as far Link Listing is concerned. If required, I shall link to posts in between my normal posts, but standalone linking posts are done. Just totally ruin the aesthetics of my friggin blog. Yeah, its ok for Techkeyla, but OKS should be as link free as possible. Blogging ethics you see.

Let me begin with OMFG. The Top 12 are finally performing in front of a huge stage, an enthusiastic mosh pit, the three judges - Simon, Paula and Randy, and of course not only America, but viewers from across the world - thanks to syndicated Television. And what can be bigger than that, it’s Beatles special tonite. The Idol Top 12 performed to the tunes of McCartney and Lennon one after another and blew me away. Some of them not quite there, some of them I hated, but I loved most of them. At this point of them, I am still quite confused to pick my favorite. Talk about last season - I had none. LOL. So, after Ryan Seacrest unveils the Top 12, we get to see a montage on the works of Paul and John, and yes, I love it.The performances:- Syesha goes in first with “Got to Get You into my Life“. What an entry and what an intro to the Top 12 of this season. I am already feeling that this Top 12 rocks more than any previous season. She deserves all the praise she got from the judges and she definitely is one of the strongest voices. Next in-Chikezie with “She’s a Woman”. He nailed it. Randy loved the intro with the Southern groove and what he did with the rock arrangement. “Chikezie smashed it”. Yeah! Ramiele didn’t go very strong with her performance of “In My Life”. Simon and Randy thought it was boring and so did I. C’mon we are talking about Top 12 where you gotta go out there and sing your heart out and bring the house down. Following Chikezie was a mess, especially with that song choice. She might be in danger tomorrow. Read the rest of this post »

My site has been down due to database problems. Techkeyla hasn’t come up yet and I am a bit upset about it. Nevertheless, in the meanwhile, I got to watch the final two episodes of Prison Break’s cut short Season 3. And the plot was racing through my head. Michael Scoffield’s genius keeps my jaw dropping every season and sometimes in every plan that he executes. This time, it was indeed yummy. Episode 11- Under and Out had left off when rain had forced Michael and the team to get the escape time ahead of the schedule. The escape team had actually become too crowded with Bellick and McGrady joining in. But Michael had other plans.
*****SPOILER ALERT*****
Episode 12- begins with Lincoln bashing off the power supply tower with a bus. The power went off and off go Lechero, Bellick and T-Bag into No Man’s Land. What they didn’t know of was Scoffield’s plan. The generator backup wasn’t supposed to come up before 30 seconds which actually did. But there was no turning back. Lechero runs even when the searchlights are on him, and he gets shot. T-Bag and Bellick are caught. The trucks come up, and No Man’s Land is crowded now. And Michael escapes NOW with Mahone, Whistler and McGrady. Read the rest of this post »

After watching the movie ‘10,000 BC‘, all I could really do was THINK. Seriously. No not because it is a thought provoking film. Primarily because Arnab aka GreatBong had written this post called Akbarnama - a day in the life of Akbar (If you haven’t read it, READ it). But well, many may term my post here as plagiarist and to some extent rephrasing Arnab’s deliciously humorous post in a prehistoric context. But c’mon, you also know it, this will be real fun. So here it is-a day in the life of D’Le aka the prehistoric man.
8:00 am: I guess it is 5.00 am. Crap, I don’t know numbers , nor do I know the concept of time. Hey, my English vocabulary is improving though. Crap should be included as a good exclamatory outburst. Yay! Oh yeah, I think it’s actually time for crap.
After around 15 mins: Yeah, it’s time to get up. Look at that ugly guy under the water. I think he’s retarded. Keeps copying me. And I wonder how he breathes.
Another 15 mins: I guess it’s time for me to check out the new fashion line. Hmm! Zebra Skin or Camel. I hear that the new winter collection of Hyena Fur is really in. Ugh! the ladies don’t help me drape it. I think I’m just gonna wrap it randomly. Ooh! and look at me hair…so Bob Marley. Reggae anyone. Oh, I’m not supposed to know that either. Is this movie really directed by Subhash Ghai, the guy whose resume’ reads Kalicharan, Karz,Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan,Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes and Taal (let’s forget memories, I mean Yaadein and Kisna for the time being, you know disasters do happen)? What happened to the glitz, the Bollywood spice and the saccharine? Oh they have all gone, and gone for good. The glam has taken a back seat, and the director is ON. Scene-1, take 1-Action. Subhash Ghai’s “Black and White” speaks volumes for itself- of the guts and the dare that he has taken up, leaving aside all that he has done previously, and ventured into totaly new lands of filmmaking- a land which is politely termed as experimental cinema. Kudos to the man who quit the huge hat, refrained himself from that addictive cameo and did a brilliant job behind the lens. And all of this praise doesn’t come from your knowledge of what you expect of a Subhas Ghai blockbuster. But because, B&W has all that it takes to make it a heartfelt attempt at making GOOD cinema. From the moment when the reels began to roll to unveil the Solar Eclipse and the Diamond Ring shine on the Title, I knew that I so want this film to be good. And the good thing was, it IS. Yeah, so my prediction of the Top 6 guys did seem quite accurate, except for it’s Luke Menard who is leaving in place of David Hernandez. Meh! It’s ok. All the other 5 did fit in the Top 6. As for the ladies, I hardly got the time to predict, before the Top 12 results are out. Thanks to the 12 hour delay in broadcast ( I watch American Idol in India, after 12 hours of the original broadcast in the US, and thanks to Rickey, I get all the results as and when it happens).
No surprises with the ladies Top 6 though. All my favorites are very much here. Brooke White, Syesha, pinoy Ramiele Malubay (she’s such a short hottie), Carly Smithson, Amanda Overmyer, Kristy Lee Cook are in. The one’s who were out were quite predictable from Simon’s comments on their performances. Kady Malloy did a very uninspiring version of Queen’s anthemic “Who wants to live forever?”. I can still remember Katherine McPhee perform thatin Season 5 in the Queen special. This wasn’t even close. On the other hand, Asia’h Epperson’s song choice was way too big for her. Whitney Houston- “I wanna dance with Somebody”; the song showed you the exit.
Looking at the Top 12 however, I definitely think, that it’s the gyus who are here to stay, and definitely a guy who is becoming the Idol. I have my bets on David Cook, David Archuleta, and Jason Castro out of which Archuleta seems to be the favorite of the crowd as well as the judges. But Cook is definitely cooking it up with his rock spices and it sure sounds yummy. Can’t wait to watch the Top 12 perform in front of a larger audience and a huge stage. Woohooo.
